Animal Appreciation

Since childhood Kim has felt a connection with and appreciation for wildlife/animals. She's the kind of person who stops to help turtles cross the road safely, catches home-invading bugs in a cup to relocate them outside and is the first person her friends call when they encounter wildlife near their home. In fact, in her spare time Kim has donated her time volunteering at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue. She's participated in their seasonal Baby Bird feeding program and sometimes captures/transports injured birds for treatment. NOTE: Kim can confirm that the term "wild goose chase" is warranted.

While she distinguishes herself from those humans that attempt to approach wild animals for a souvenir photo, she is up for any safe and respectful interaction and opportunity to learn that comes her way.

Oh, and at one time or another she's owned most of the common pets one can have. She currently has two dogs, eight budgies and a ball python. All but the python are rescues.

In retrospect, if Kim had known then what she knows now about the refuge that offered these big cat photos, she never would've been a patron. That said, holding a 10-week-old lion was pretty amazing.
